James Carafano believes that freedom will not fully come to the Middle East without Iran falling as well. He uses previous American policies towards Iran to exemplify that tolerant behavior has never worked. He says the only way to solve Iran's leadership problems is to give freedom to the people, like what has happened in other countries such as Egypt and Libya. In addition, this freedom must come FROM the people; but Carafano complains the U.S government is not doing enough to achieve this goal. His targets his audience, the U.S government by criticizing their policies in the hope that they will change.
